3:00 p.m.

In my last post, I mentioned the acronym RAD. I already went into detail about RSV, so now we'll go into RAD. Ethan has RAD and, well, it's not very rad. RAD, or reactive/restrictive airway disease, is kind of that blank, white space that comes after the wheezing and before you can even diagnose something like asthma. RAD is not asthma, which is a huge misconception on the internet. Infants cannot successfully complete a bronchial challenge test and therefore cannot be diagnosed with asthma until they're old enough so RAD is that general white space to give the wheezing and rattling an official title so it's not totally terrifying and unidentifiable.

RAD is an asthma-like disease with asthma-like symptoms and one day babies like Ethan may lose their RAD title and replace it with an asthmatic badge of honor.

RAD might not be rad, but it sure doesn't slow this guy down any.
